Ongoing Projects

My research takes place in diverse ecosystems, ranging from the highly urbanized Galveston Bay estuary to the central Amazon.  Using mark-recapture models and spatial ecology tools, I study the ecology of species to assess the importance of anthropogenic threats.  I also conduct human-based research, primarily through interview methods, to understand the drivers of threats and inform conservation initiatives.
